Canadian Financial Summit 2026: 40+ Experts, 4 Days, Completely FREE

Written by: FT

It’s that time of year again. The leaves are changing colours, the weather is getting colder, Thanksgiving is the rearview mirror, and here at Million Dollar Journey, Kyle Prevost has disappeared down the rabbit hole of Canadian Financial Summit preparations. Between interviewing speakers, organizing presentations, and trying to squeeze as much useful information as possible into four days, I suspect Kyle will be happy to see November arrive!

The good news for the rest of us is that the 2026 Canadian Financial Summit is back: October 21–24, and this year’s lineup is particularly impressive. More than 40 Canadian personal finance experts will be sharing their knowledge on retirement planning, taxes, investing, mortgages, financial independence, and just about every other money-related decision Canadians have to make.

As usual, the entire event is online and 100% FREE to watch during the 48-hour viewing window. There’s no travelling, no conference fees, and no special software required. Just register, check your email when the Summit begins, and choose the presentations that interest you.

For those who aren’t familiar with the event, the Canadian Financial Summit has been bringing together some of Canada’s best-known financial writers, educators, and professional planners since 2016. MDJ’s own Kyle Prevost founded the Summit and is once again hosting alongside Canadian personal finance expert Barry Choi.

One thing I’ve always appreciated about this Summit is that it’s produced by Canadians, for Canadians. There’s no shortage of financial advice on the internet, but an awful lot of it comes from Americans discussing 401(k)s, Roth IRAs, and tax rules that have very little relevance to our situation. Here, the conversation revolves around RRSPs, TFSAs, CPP, OAS, Canadian housing, and the financial decisions we’re actually facing.

What’s New at the 2026 Canadian Financial Summit?

This year’s lineup includes familiar names such as Rob Carrick, Shannon Lee Simmons, Preet Banerjee, Jason Heath, Maria Smith, Ed Rempel, Robb Engen, Brenda Hiscock, and Jonathan Chevreau. You’ll also hear from investing experts like Mark Seed, Hannah, McVean, Mike Heroux, and Dale Roberts, alongside an impressive collection of Certified Financial Planners who have helped thousands of Canadian families work through real-life financial decisions.

There are some particularly interesting new additions as well. Housing analyst Ben Rabidoux will explain what Canada’s struggling housing market means for our banks, the economy, and investors. Outspoken mortgage broker Ron Butler will give his take on mortgage rates and renewals.

Here are some of the highlights from this year’s sessions:

  • How to create your own retirement plan and know when you have enough to retire.
  • Save thousands in retirement taxes by optimizing your RRSP-to-RRIF transition and withdrawal strategy.
  • What good financial advice should REALLY look like: Rob Carrick, Shannon Lee Simmons, and Jason Heath.
  • How to turn your investment nest egg into a steady stream of retirement income.
  • Why the first few years of retirement can be the riskiest for your investment portfolio.
  • Maximize corporate investment accounts and optimize dividend-versus-salary strategies for small business owners.
  • How to combine a DIY investment portfolio with an annuity for retirement income.
  • The truth about Canadian mortgage rates, renewals, and where housing prices might be headed.
  • What you need to know about spousal RRSPs, income splitting, CPP, and OAS clawbacks.
  • Step-by-step examples of professional financial plans, including real Canadian retirement case studies.

There are also some excellent conversations about the less mathematical side of personal finance. Jonathan Chevreau will discuss what surprised him after finally making the transition from retirement columnist to actual retiree. Mike Heroux will explore whether Canadians spend too much time worrying about running out of money and not enough time enjoying the wealth they’ve accumulated. Meanwhile, early retirees Mark Seed and Kornel Szrejber will share what financial independence actually looks like once the spreadsheets become real life.

Kyle has a couple of interesting presentations of his own, including how first-time homebuyers can combine the FHSA and RRSP Home Buyers’ Plan to supercharge their down payments, and how Canadians with rental properties can unwind their real estate holdings tax-efficiently as they transition into retirement.

Needless to say, you won’t find this collection of Canadian financial expertise in one place very often!

How to Watch the Canadian Financial Summit

The Summit officially kicks off on Wednesday, October 21, with presentations scheduled across October 22–24. Once you’ve registered, you’ll receive an email confirming your free ticket, followed by instructions for accessing the sessions as they become available.

Each presentation is available to watch FREE for 48 hours. You can stream everything from your computer, tablet, or phone, so there’s no need to download an app or rearrange your entire week. There are no payment details required to register, and no subscription you’ll have to remember to cancel later.

That’s it. No catch, no paperwork, and no need to change out of your pajamas!

Is the Canadian Financial Summit All Access Pass Worth It?

All cards on the table: Kyle isn’t organizing this entire event purely out of the goodness of his heart. He’s hoping that after you’ve watched some of the free presentations, you’ll find enough value in the Summit to consider purchasing the optional All Access Pass.

For $99 during the current promotion, the All Access Pass provides lifetime access to all of the Summit presentations, so you can watch them whenever you like. It also includes six bonus sessions covering topics such as CPP, RRSP strategies, retirement budgeting, and determining whether you have enough to retire. There are also four exclusive expert Q&A sessions and additional Canadian personal finance resources.

Personally, I think the biggest advantage is being able to revisit the presentations when you’re actually making a retirement or investing decision. Four days is a lot of financial information to absorb, and having the ability to go back to a particular discussion six months from now could be useful.

The $99 price is an early promotion, and the cost is scheduled to increase. Of course, if you’d rather stick with the free presentations during their 48-hour viewing windows, that’s perfectly fine too.
